Nothing big, my car hit and cracked only the mirror on someone else’s left mirror car. But the thing is I don’t have full coverage, only the basic.

The way I was told on how coverages are determined is if you in at fault accident, and the damages to the other persons veh, or property is above 1,000 dollars your rates may go up.. If there below that your rates should stay the same… Now if you in a dozen or so accidents that the damages are less then a 1,000 then they may still go up.. Also if your in an accident, and not at fault the damages could be 5,000 dollars to your veh, and your rates should stay the same.. But it does have a lot to do with what state you live in, and what company you have….

It depends. Some car insurance companies have a threshold. This is a dollar amount which a claim must exceed in order to count as a chargeable claim. Many do not. You can try to check with your company to see if they do, but many will not reveal it as people will then try to skew their damages to be under that amount.
Thresholds are generally very low, I think the highest I have ever seen is $1000.00, which is minimal when you are talking about body work.
You probably won’t know until your next renewal.

If this is reported to the insurance company or police, it will be counted against you.

If it is resolved between you and the other owner no one is the wiser and no it will not affect your premiums.

Consider just paying for it? if its less than your deductible then there is no insurance claim.
