    Who’s property was he on?

If it was city property and the result of a poorly paved road, you might try calling City Hall.

As you know, the hospital had to do the surgery whether you had insurance or not. Find out what help is available to cover the costs. If he is a minor, the costs might be covered by the State.

My son just had parts of his bike stolen and the officer told me that my home owners insurance would cover it… call them and ask. You have nothing to loose. Most hospital will work with you on payments also…. as long as your paying $20 a month they will usually work with you. Was he hit buy a car? If he was the other persons insurace should cover the medical.

No, your home insurance and/or your car insurance cannot be billed for an accident such as this. Discuss the problem with the hospital. Some hospitals do have ‘compationate write off’. When a hospital has this, only the main billing person will know it. Talk to the supervisor in the main billing dept, ask for his write off. Sometimes, hospitals understand a bit, and just do not bill you when you CAN get this.

Unless it happened on your property your homeowner’s insurance will not cover nor will your auto insurance pay it. You may want to check out with suing the owner of the property he was injured on their property. There is a program inplace that helps children that have no insurance coverage. Asking the social worker from the hospital or going to social services and they should be able to help.

if your son was being chased by a dog, and that caused the accident- the property homeowner’s insurance would cover it. In Michigan it would be covered under michild if the child was registered, for 5 dollars a month.
