Will people be forced to pay for health plan that covers only mainstream medicine, even if they use only alternative health care and never use allopathic practitioners? Or should people be allowed to choose plans which instead cover naturapathic doctors, homeopathic medicine, acupuncture, faith healing , or whatever medical practice they do believe in?

Yes. You’ll be forced to pay for coverage you don’t want. And not just for yourself but for others. You SHOULD be allowed to selected the kind of treatments you want.

Since some of those you listed are just quacks – it is probably best for the government to limit what will be covered. Faith healing??? Come on, that isn’t medical care. It is about getting health care for the general population, not indulging every citizen’s crazy ideas.

no government should force someone to do anything….within reason… so yarh, its bad,

BUT the is also government is forcing people that do want health care to pay for it.

    VIVA LA NATIONAL HEALTH CARE

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America!

You have no choice. You will not even be allowed to buy separate healthcare or pay for extra procedures you or your doctor feel are needed but the politicians don’t want to pay for out of the money they take from us. In the end, as always has happened with anything involving the government, you will pay more and get less. History has demonstrated that time and again but some people never learn.

If you can find a health insurance provider that covers "faith healing," them more power to you.

Acupuncture, however, is actually covered by a lot of general health plans.

It might make people pay $100 more a year on their income taxes. Big flipping deal. I’d rather pay for mandatory health insurance than some pointless war.
