I just realised my Grandad, who lives in England, does not have any form of life , he getting on a bit at 86, and has had a few falls recently. He is not covered against accidents or death. Would his coverage be expensive? And is it possible to make myself beneficiary, even if I live in a different country?? (I recently moved to USA with wife). Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Some companies will issue up to age 90 (don’t know about in England though). This coverage would be VERY expensive though…like for a $25,000 policy expect to pay hundreds of dollars a month.

Yes, it is possible to have a beneficiary in another country.

Yes, life insurance for an 86-year-old will be extremely expensive, if he can qualify at all.

The limit is age 84 in the United States to purchase life insurance. You have to check with British insurance companies how they operate. Yes, you can be his beneficiary no matter where you live.
