Why do Libs bring up auto insurance as a forced payment that we are ok with paying?

Let me ask you Libs something, if I don’t have a car, do I need to buy auto insurance? However, it seems that if I don’t use medicare and aren’t sick, you still want me to pay for it anyway whether I want to or not. Thanks a lot neo-totalitarians.

I’m with ya brother. I don’t want to buy health insurance. Being insured is a terrible burden on me. If I am in need of a surgery I’ll just go to the emergency room. If I can’t pay it I will have you pay for it instead. If they try to get the money from me then I guess I will just have to declare bankruptcy and once again make you pay for it. I hate authority so much that I do the opposite of whatever the authority thinks I should do. If this passes I hope they keep illegal immigrants off of it so they can continue to be free like me. God Bless America.

FLAWED LOGIC
Car insurance is required if YOU cause damage to ANOTHER. There is NO state ANYWHERE in the US that requires you to insure YOUR OWN car against damage.
That insurance is VOLUNTARY, as should be healthcare insurance.
PREMISE FAIL
ARGUMENT FAIL
LOGIC FAIL

Careful you might anger them with sound logic and reasoning.

The person that hits you with his car sure does need to have auto insurance.
As for not getting sick – well son, the death rate is 100% – and everyone gets sick.

Everyone owns a body therefore everyone needs health insurance. When you take your body out of our society then we won’t require you to carry liability insurance on it to make sure that we don’t get stuck with your health care bills.

The auto insurance analogy is good, but I think Social Security is better. We have to pay into the Social Security system, which in turn provides us with a benefit. It is a form of insurance. Social Security has certainly been ruled legal by the Supreme Court. Thus, it follows that health care reform, which requires a form of insurance, would also be legal. Remember, the bottom line is we are a federal system and federal laws supersede state laws; otherwise, for instance, it would still be legal to discriminate against blacks and women.

Can you say with reasonable certainty that you will never get sick or be in an accident?

People here saying car insurance is mandatory are liars. You can also post a bond-usually 50,000 dollars. A lot of people do it-even I know one-they get interest rather than pay an insurance fee. Besides that, you have the option of not owning a car (most people in NYC and other places don’t) and relying on others or public transportation.
The claim that forcing society to buy insurance saves society from having to pay for others’ medical costs is ignorance at its finest. All it is doing is changing the *way* it is billed to society-the affect is the same. People promoting this kind of ignorance are hoping you are stupid too.

I don’t have any problem as long as you post a health insurance bond for $500,000 to cover two weeks in the hospital. But if you think that just because you can afford to pay a few hundred dollars a year in medical costs and then file bankruptcy when the unthinkable occurs, then you would be nothing more than a welfare scumbag stiffing the rest of us.
