I need to renew my and I will be studying abroad next semester and not using my vehicle. I heard there are special discounts for students not driving their vehicles 100 miles away from home, but so far I’ve ran through all the online quote applications and no companies have been asking about that. They ask about the GPA but not whether I’m 100 miles away.
I still need because if you go ANY amount of time without it, regardless of ur situation, your rates will go up. I need to be continuously covered even when im not using it.

Yes, many insurance companies DO give a discount if there is a student living over 100 miles from home who does not have access to the vehicle. Contact your agent or company you’re insured with directly & advise them of the situation. They will be able to tell you if they have that specific discount.

If you are abroad not using your vehicle, why would you need/want to insure it? I really don’t understand your question. Please explain
