Where do people get long term care health ? I’ve come across many websites but was wondering if anyone has had any particularly good experiences.

Try this site where you can compare quotes from different companies in your area

As a financial planner, I had to evalute LTC insurance for our clients. The only rating agency I would rely on is Weiss, which unlike most rating companies, does not grade on a curve. If Weiss gives a company a good rating, I would expect it to be around for a long time, be solvent, and provide reasonable customer service. Weiss ratings can be found at thestreet.com/Portfolio & tools/Insurance ratings.

Use a large company only, the ones you’ve heard of: MetLife, John Hancock, Mass Mutual, Prudential, Mutual of Omaha. All these companies have been around for decades, if not a century or more, and they will stand by their product when you need it in 30 years.

Google long-term care insurance and you will find some web sites that provide quotes from these companies. Good luck! This is one area where you do have to be a careful consumer. Your state consumer protection agency or insurance commissioner’s web site can probably provide you with helpful info: "what to look for in a long-term care policy" etc.
