No matter where you go, your car insurance is going to be expensive because of your age. Currently, I’m 19 and so far the cheapest insurance I found was with State Farm, and I’m still paying an outrageous amount (well, that’s my opinion).

It is a common practice for vehicle owners to ask around for the cheapest car insurance. But it is not possible to determine which is the cheapest because the insurance needs and the qualifying criteria vary from person to person based on the personal statistics of each person. Shopping around online is the best way to get a really cheap car insurance that suits you best. You can compare the rates of competitors to obtain the lowest rate. Many websites allow you to compare quotes from many different companies to choose the one that cheapest that fits your needs. This process is quick and easy and ensures that you get the best deal. Alberta auto insurance is rated a bit differently for young male drivers. We use a system called the GRID and it is based on your age and your experience. All companies will give that price. It is significantly less then what was paid before Auto Reform was put into place.
A female driver still pays less then a male so then you are shopping the markets. You can seek out an online quote or you can use an agent or a broker. Since you are quite young I would recommend that you consider a broker. At least take the time to talk to one.
A recommendation a broker might make would be that you consider some Specified Perils coverage for your vehicle. The deductible (the amount you share in a loss with the insurance company) is usually very low. The cost is usually very low, too. The coverage? It would include situations like fire, theft, flood, hail, and falling object. If you have an older vehicle and it did catch on fire while you were driving you can be sure that some well-meaning individual will call 911. The fire trucks will respond. Guess who is going to pay for that? That’s right, your insurance if you bought that Specified Perils coverage.
Learn as much as you can about insurance. You are going to be stuck with buying it for the rest of your life so you might as well get good at it now.
Good luck!

Yes. Rather than trying to find the best rates on line, instead go and talk to an independent local agent. Tell him what coverage you need, and all your information.
He can then search his data bases to find the best deal for you.
The side benefit is you have a person to talk to when necessary, instead of a toll free number where you get someone different each time you call.
