The first thing you need to do is find out what insurances your gyno takes and the hospital where you will be delivering. Make sure when you call the hospital for the names of insurances, you ask them if the NIC Unit doctors participate with the same insurances as the hospital. Its EXTREMELY important that you make sure everyone takes whatever insurance you end up with. I paid $800 a month for United Healthcare from COBRA when i was pregnant and my daughter was admitted to the NIC Unit after i delivered her for jaundice. We got a bill 3 moths later for $2,500 because the doctor in the NIC Unit didnt take my insurance!!

If you can get a state insurance for free- by all means, GET IT! You dont pay a cent for anything. But if u have to pay for insurance- do your homework hun!!

    Good Luck! <3
