And have you ever heard of western general insurance company / Insure Express? They have a pretty good rate, but I’ve never heard of them before.

What Auto Insurance Company do you use and would recommend?

I have Liberty Mutual because I work for them and I get a discount on my insurance (and it’s taken directly from my paycheck so I never see a bill). While I would never have gone with them if I didn’t work there, I did have great success with them. The one accident I was in since switching to Liberty was my fault. They responded quickly and efficiently and my rate didn’t go up.

I don’t know if you have it where you are but I use Progressive. I haven’t had a claim yet so I don’t necessarily know yet how good they are but they had a low rate for me. My friend go hit by someone who had Geico and he really liked how they handled and fixed his car…gave him a rental while his was in the shop.
I would recommend either of those two if they cover where you live. Personally I wouldn’t go with one you’ve never heard of unless you know people who have dealt with them and recommend them.

I would highly recommend Hartford Insurance. When I was involved in an accident last year (not really my fault), but sued by the vehicle involved, the reps from Hartford took the time to call and settle me down and explain the entire process. Their attorney was professional and kept me informed of the process every step of the way.
There are cheaper insurances out there. But I recommend spending additional fees for your peace of mind. After all that’s what insurance is for.
My experience from a cheaper insurance company (Geico) was not as positive. They took all the necessary step to reduce their responsibility and made the driver do most of the work.
Hartford, State Farm, AllState… Even if they had received bad coverage in the media, you will definitely feel safer with the big names.

I’ve never heard of Western General/Insure Express – odds are, if a company has two names, that they’re just getting started, and just aren’t established enough to be reliable (or to have one name). I use Farmers, and I get a fantastic rate, and good service. They’ve been serving my father-in-law for decades.

I have Geico right now and have had them for about two years without any problem. They reduce your premium if you maintain a good driving record. Plus their reps are always very friendly and helpful in answering my questions.

I use Geico, they are so helpful and friendly there. DO NOT Use Progressive, whatever you do. I am completley covered insurance-wise and was hit by another vehicle and they literally TOLD ME "You have to do on your own"

State Farm. I am a customer and employee and we work SO hard to take care of our customers. Check into the Select Service Program, it is just about the best thing ever. After your repairs are done, the shop fills your car up, tops off all fluids, and cleans/vacuums it.

I would definitely stick with one of the "major" insurance companies. As others here have already stated, the "no name" insurers will be happy to quote you low premiums and take your money as long as you never have a claim. But when you do, it’ll be like getting blood from a turnip!
Your best bet is to use one of the free online quoting services that provides multiple quotes from the major insurers for comparison. An example: http://www.affordable-auto-insurance-quotes.net
Hope this helps!

I use Allstate and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to change auto/homeowners insurance or is shopping around for the first time.

Don’t use a company that you have never heard of before. You might save some money now but when you need them, they won’t be there.

Progressive. Don’t use state farm, they took a month just to get an adjuster to look at my crashed car.

Gecko, because I like the little Geico they use on their commercials.

Geico for autos and motorcycle. Great rates (about half of what Progressive quoted for same coverage) and a discount every 6 months. Never have had any issues when dealing with customer service.
