What auto insurance companies DON'T use a credit score when deciding rates?
I’m against the practice of using credit scores (i.e. insurance scores) to decide auto insurance rates. Does anyone know of a company in the U.S. that doesn’t use the practice?

whether you’re against it or not, it’s a factor. and sorry, i dont know of ANY companies out there that don’t use it. i know about 99% use credit scores, so good luck finding the one or two that havent jumped on that wagon… yet.

Whether you’re against it or not, that’s what they do. I don’t know how you’d find out, I guess you’d have to check with each company and ask.
There was a story about this on the news the other evening and they said 1 late credit card payment can increase your insurance rates.

I think the best thing to do is try to search it on the net. Visit some website of car insurance companies so that you will know about the transactions and policies of that company. You can try to park on this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com as your reference and acccess to the different car insurance companies.

I know Liberty Mutual used to not run credit scores, but that was a few years ago. Check and see if they still don’t.
Nearly all companies now use some kind of credit score for a determining factor.

CHECK WITH THE BOARD OF INSURANCE WHICH IS ON LINE AND THIS WAY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FIRST HAND ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES INCLUDING THEIR RATINGS AS WELL AS HOW THEY PAY AND TREAT CONSUMERS AND MAYBE BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU.
