I thought I heard somewhere that if my house is over 100 years old and has never had a flood, that if it does flood my homeowners insurance is supposed to cover any flood damage. If anyone knows anything about it and has and official source I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I have homeowners insurance and it covers self storage units. However, the storage facility requires me to pay extra to use THEIR insurance. Is that allowed? Other facilities only required me to prove I had some insurance coverage.
