• How can we change the law for auto insurance?

  I had to fight to get where I am now, I have insurance that I don’t have to pay a crapload for. Why is it the law to have insurance? If we have a law for insurance, I think we should have laws regulating how insurance works. I could not get my own policy for a long time, I had to be under the same name as my dad. If I tried to get my own with the same company they said my insurance would go up a day. They make it very hard to get what is required by law to have. They use statisics to tell you what kind of driver that you are not. I think there has to be some way to change the rules. Should make it either easier to get insurance since you have to have it or not make it a requirement at all.

  I am purchasing a 1954, wood frame home in central Florida.

• homeowners insurance question….?

  i bought a house 2 yrs ago and the loan was for 125 thousand, insurance for the same amount, now i am trying to refinance for a better rate, and had to get a new appraisal, which came in at 207 thous, now my insurance company says i must get insurance for the 207, but all i am refinancing for is 167 thous, the 123 still owed on the original loan and then using some equity to pay off my car, my question is i am not borrowing a full 207 even though the appraisal says that, i only want to insure the amount of the new loan i am getting, the 167, they say i cant do it at just 167, i HAVE to get insurance at the 207 amount, is this true or are they full of it?
  and yep, its a beach area, hurricane prone, and it was a duplex when i bought it, its now a 4plex…

   

• Where should I get insurance for my photographic equipment?

  I don’t have homeowners insurance to tack it on to, so I’d like to find an independent solution. I’m a freelance photographer, so I think I have to get commercial coverage, but I don’t need all of the extra frills (i.e. coverage if my shoot messes up, etc). I will soon have a D3 and really want to get that stuff covered.
  I don’t have any sort of homeowners or renters insurance at the moment, so I can’t tack it on (as much as I’d love to).

  I live in Wisconsin and havent had insurance in about four years. I am getting married in six months and my fiance’s insurance agent said that I should get insurance now, six months before the wedding, so that once we get married and I get added onto his insurance, I won’t raise his insurance since I am considered high risk since I havent had insurance the last six months or more. So, if I get insurance on my won for six months, it will be high risk for those six months, but then six montsh from now, I won’t be high risk, which will be good becasue six months from now is when i would get married and added onto his insurance.

  Now, I am going to get insurance on a car that doesn’t have a loan on it, and I am wondering how much insurance I need? What is the least amount of insurance I could get on my car, so that in six months I won’t be high risk anymore?

  P.S. I live in Wisconsin, where it isn’t illegal if you don’t have insurance on your car.

  My son has autism. I am currently employed and have insurance through my work. I am planning on moving and taking a new job but I am worried that I will not be able to get insurance for my son if I move. If anyone knows anything about this please help.

  Under Obama’s health plan, insurance can’t be refused because of a pre existing condition (at least that’s what I heard). How would that work? Why would anyone get insurance before getting sick? How would that not bankrupt the companies?
