On the basic HO policy unattached structures are automatically cover usually at 10% of the covered policy amount. Is this per unattached structures or is it one coverage for all unattached? (i.e. a Barn valued at ,000 and Tool Shed valued at ,000 – and the HO policy is covered for 0,000 – will the coverage for the Barn and Tool Shed be ,000 or ,000?) Thanks in advance for any help.

OK, when you mean basic, do you mean basic HO-1 form? That’s a "BASIC" form. Or do you mean a standard HO-3 form??
If you’re talking about an HO-3 form, it’s the TOTAL LIMIT OF ALL UNATTACHED STRUCTURES – garages, barns, sheds, etc. If the house is insured ofr $100,000, the standard policy will provide $10,000 of "other structures" coverage – TOTAL, not per structure.
But you can increase that limit by endorsement VERY easily.

The 10% covers all structures, so the answer to your question is, it’s $10,000 for everything.
If that coverage is not sufficient, you can normally endorse your policy for extra coverage. It’s not really expensive to do.

it’s 10,000 in total. You should get the others endorsed. Which means you get it listed. It would be a good idea for the Barn and Tool Shed, think about all the equipment in both. Where do you live by the way..insurance services can be different from state to state.

if you have a farm you should have a farm owners policy
covers each structure seperately —house, barn, tool shed, – don’t forget to schedule your equipment and high end tools (blanket the small tools)
opposed to a house with an and unattached garage and contents
