Once an auto insurance claim is denied, can it be reopened and/or accepted?

I had an auto accident and after interviewing me and looking at my photos taken right after the accident, my insurance company believed that I was not at-fault and denied the other driver’s claim and closed the case.

He then claimed he had photos that would prove that I was the one at fault and would mail it to them. If he can somehow prove it, is it possible my insurance company will change their mind and reopen the case? Or once it’s closed, it’s final?

He’ll probably turn this over to his insurance and your insurance and his will fight over this. If he was cited in the accident or the police indicated he was at fault on the accident report, it won’t go anywhere.

If your insurance company needs to ask you some questions, it’ll do so. But this is why your insurance company hires adjusters and lawyers.

If you get a summons from him or his insurance company, call your insurance company immediately. They’ll provide a lawyer for you since they’ll have to pay if you lose. But it’s doubtful it’ll go that far.
