I get a discount for my car insurance if i am a member of a professional agency. A lot of them are expensive…..anyone know if any of these are free or cheap.

This is a bit of a deception on Geico’s part. You cannot have both the discount for belonging to one of those agencies and have any of certain other, bigger discounts. Therefore, it is better to skip the discount that you are seeking and go for the bigger discount instead.
For example, I am a member of an engineering honor society that keeps telling me that I can get a discount from Geico for being a member. However, all the members either are engineers or have engineering degrees, and Geico gives a bigger discount to anyone who is an engineer or has an engineering degree, but does not give them both discounts. Therefore, no one takes the discount for being a member of the engineering honor society, because the members all qualify for the discount for being an engineer or having an engineering degree, and that discount is bigger.
