Doing research into which life companies are good to work with. Is there a list of the top or best ones?

Nope. Top means something different to lots of people. Biggest sellers? Most policyholders? Fewest complaints with the state? Fastest claims service? Fewest claims denied? Highest pay for salespeope? Most friendly to working moms?

    See what I mean?

I would check out the A M Best website. They rate insurance companies.

I would check out your state’s Department of Insurance website. On their site you should find links (Consumer links) that are designed to help you with not only the purchase of life insurance but other types of insurance that is available in your state.

Because the site was designed by the Department of Insurance you should be able to find answers to your questions that are not partial to any one company.

Also you should be able to find information on this site regarding the different types of life insurance available. Don’t be sold something you don’t need. Know what you need before you get a quote.

Other sites you also can check out is AM Best (www.ambest.com), Weis (http://www.weissratings.com), Standard & Poor’s (www.standardandpoors.com).
