Most likely not – it typically does NOT cover underground tanks and/or pipes that are outside of the house – which a septic tank typically is. There might be some limited coverage for pollution remediation, if your tank has cracked and leaked sewage onto a neighbor’s property.

You’ll have to call your agent and ask.

    Hey Roque,
Please help us understand your question better. Are you asking if the tank itself is covered or if water back-up due to it’s breaking down is covered?

Is the septic tank covered for what exactly?

  • jlf 5:04 am on March 11, 2010

Covered for what? Routine maintenance and cleaning? No way.

Easy solution to your question, read your policy. Open the page to the table of contents and look for Losses we cover under coverages AA and BB. I just find it really strange how many people never read their policies.
