I have been asking around and have heard that for a 50cc Roketa Sicily scooter in Texas you are not required to have , motorcycle, license or license plates- just a helmet and drivers license is enough. is this true? what about inspection?

    To legally ride a MoPed on Texas roads you need to have a Motorcycle License:

    ===== http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/msb/mopedinfo.htm
    Driver’s license for a moped – A moped operator’s license is required for operators of mopeds. A person must be at least fifteen (15) years old to be issued a license to operate a moped…..
    =====

    A MoPed *is* a motor vehicle, and all the laws concerning the registration and insurance of a motor vehicle apply.

    49cc and below are considered mopeds so those are the rules they go by.

    Not true. My bud got stopped, recently, for riding a 49cc Whizzer (motorized bicycle). City cops told him the displacement had to be no larger than 38cc.
