If a federal prisoner has a serious health issue, they can be shipped off to the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota, where the Mayo Clinic has beds set aside for them.

Is it ironic that working poor cannot afford health insurance, while federal prisoners get free care?

Look around at socialized medicine. Higher rates of disease and death. People who don’t get what they need even if they can pay for it.
Yes it’s easier, just treat people like live stock so Obama and his new Oligarchy can rein supreme and be the super rich ruling class, but it’s stupid for all others, just as the Bolshevik revolution screwed the little people most and put the rich friends of the leaders in role of royalty, so will Obama’s plan to ruin our economy and install the "Progressive Economy" the communist originators of this movement advocated.
If you keep watching TV, buying it all, thinking the people they support are your friends … you are in for one RUDE AWAKENING.

Thats why the poor commit crimes. They get food and health care in prison and not when they are trying to make an honest living.

THIS!!!! Is the direction we are trying to go……UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!!! Our prisoners and our Congress people got it…we don’t…IT’S TIME ! ! !

No. The health care afforded to prisoners is usually very substandard. Prisons are essentially places to warehouse those who should be separated from the rest of society. It is no picnic.

Yes, our medical system is completely immoral. Hopefully soon this will change and everyone will have universal access to health care.

Well if you want to receive the same quality of care that prisoners get… have at it.
I prefer to pay for my own.

And even more ironic is that liberals want to put the GITMO detainees in the same federal prisons where THEY’LL get free health care.

The poor do have Medicaid, and are treated much better than prisoners. Ask your Congressman if he is willing to give up his health care for the Universal care offered by this administration. I would bet he won’t drop his. Does that tell you anything?
I will continue to pay for my insurance and work in the clinic where we help the poor get free health care.

I am a health care professional. I worked in a prison as a health care provider. I can tell you in my field that what prisoners get is hardly anything to brag about. Sometimes free is worth what you pay!!
It will be the same when we have universal health care for everyone. It won’t be worth a dime.

Medicaid is charge about 6 thousand for each so-called dead beat

People who are incarcerated get free health care for the obvious reason they are in no position to get it for themselves. A healthy adult who isn’t in prison has no excuse not to find of a doctor if he wants one.
