If you get a formal diagnosis it may not be covered. a lot of HMOs like deny coverage for "pre-existing" conditions. I suppose this is to keep people from obtaining health insurance when they already have a costly health problem. Kind of like getting life insurance after you die.
If you can wait, just to be safe & put not yourself through the hassale of unpaid insurance claims, I would. If you are in distress you can always go to the ER and get emergency medicaid. Hope everything works out!

If its only a matter of a few weeks, or a month, I would say to wait. If its gonna be longer, I wouldn’t play around with my health. Supposedly, there have been new guidelines put in place (I guess depending on your state-I’m in NY), that are supposed to protect you from being penalized for having a pre-existing condition. You never know with health insurance these days, though.

Yes, wait for your health insurance. Otherwise, they will consider it a pre-existing condition and not pay a penny toward it.

If you can get medicaid, they usually will pay any outstanding bills (up to 6 months) before you are on. Regular insurance will say its a pre-existing condition and not cover it, and most insurance companies have a 1 year rider on their policies meaning they won’t pay for any pre-existing problem for the first year. And most insurance companies have health questioners and physicals prior to insuring you.. so if you are not diagnosed with anything you would not be lying to the insurance company which is illegal
