The question I have relates to my dads life
insurance policy. When he got laid off from his job he had the option of converting or porting his group life
insurance. He chose to port and paid the
premiums directly to Prudential. I was wondering if the contestability period started over when he ported or was the contestability based off of the original life
insurance. Thanks!!!

He chose one of the options offered. As such, the contestability period has already been covered.
It would be the same if he exchanged it for another one.

No, it doesn’t "reset" if he ports it.
