If my car is at the dealership for repair, would my liability insurance pay for a rental car?

I was told by some friends to check and see if my car insurance company would pay for a rental car, its hard for me to believe it, can someone tell me if this is true? The dealership will not give me a loaner/rental to drive. I had it towed in on Friday and they still haven’t looked at it. Any advice?

No. Rental reimbursement is a coverage purchased separately and can only be used in the event of a covered loss (like an accident)

If you have RENTAL CAR coverage, yes (if your car is in the shop for damage repair as the result of a collision). If you only have liability, no. Liability insurance covers NOTHING on your own car, it covers the damage you cause to the property of others.

No.
Liability will not pay for rental for yourself. If you have rental coverage it will only pay for a rental if your vehicle was involved in a covered loss such as flood, fire, collision, etc. Mechanical breakdowns are not eligible.
