I recommend http://www.homeownerswiz.com. They will hook you up with a broker who works with several companies and can find the best rates and coverage for you.

i would suggest you stop looking online and call a local independent agent. they write for many companies and can find you the best company and rate. its ALWAYS better to have a local agent to help you when you need it than trying to get a human from an online compnay.

First, you can’t buy it online.

Second, Florida is a homeowners insurance NIGHTMARE. I bet they have the highest rates in the whole country.

Third, there aren’t very many companies writing new homeowners in Florida. The only one I know of, that’s rated by AM Best, is Citizens, the state fund. I wouldn’t go with an unrated carrier, you’ll be lucky if they’re still in business after you have a claim.

Bottom line – you have to call a FL agent, and ask them to get you some quotes.

You can’t buy it on line, but you can start on line.

The only way to get the cheapest homeowners insurance in Florida is to make sure that you get a quote from "every" company that is writing new business in your county and willing to cover your home based on its age, construction materials, and distance from the Florida coast.

If you use a traditional quote generator website, you won’t get to all the Florida homeowner insurance companies still writing new business. You will only hear from agents and companies who paid a fee to get your name as a lead.

Here is a link to the only website that will help you find, screen, and contact all of the homeowner insurance companies still writing new business in Florida:

    Good luck with your search!
