I have consulted my GP with as yet undiagnosed symptoms which may be Multiple Sclerosis (just my opinion). A life insurer has deferred my application for six months while the symptoms are checked out. The symptoms aren’t painful and receding. How can I handle this situation to both get treatment and coverage without committing fraud or falling foul of a preexisting condition clause?
I should add that I am resident in the UK with its National Health Service.

no pain doesn’t mean you are not sick so no use telling anyone that there is no pain and it is receding. the insurance company only believes in the doctor’s diagnosis. you have no choice but to wait for the result. hopefully you are wrong about your condition. good luck.

Well, you’re not going to get life or disability insurance, until your issue is resolved, or diagnosed.

You can’t lie on the application about the condition (which would be fraud, plus you’d be "busted"), and if it IS MS, they’re allowed to uprate accordingly.

Life insurance will be difficult, but depending on your age and condition, there are a number of carriers who would likely issue you. As far as income protection, any potential MS symptoms will make it difficult. If you are diagnosed with MS, income protection is out of the question. Do you have group coverage available through your employer?

You would have had to buy it two years ago BEFORE any symptoms arose. It’s too late. If it turns out to be nothing then you’ll be able to get coverage. But, no house insurer will sell homeowners insurance if they ’smell smoke’ and don’t know the source yet.

You may want to consider a simplified issue life insurance application. Simplified life insurance applications has 3 to 12 health questions. Additionally coverage do not have any medical test and a coverage takes a fact from day one. Most simplified issue policies can offer coverage up to 50000$ and some 100000$ and coverage is available as term or permanent basis. Once you approved for the coverage, you can always apply for a traditional life insurance policy, although you are unlikly to receive coverage until you get a more firm diagnosis. For more details for simplified insurance and non medical life insurance policies, you can visit following web page. Hope this helps..
