    esurance and progressive have best rates PERIOD
    if you get one and they raise rate then switch to other for 6-12 months and then most likely youy can swicth back fro better rate as they like to entice new customers with lower rates. just make sure to use different email address each time. also they often will not even check driving record or if they do then not even adjust for tickets (not always but often enough to make worth while)

    remember any agent you go to needs to get paid so you not only buy insurance but also pay for smile, desk, roof, welcome mat, cup of coffee, etc. best rates for ALL insurance are online regardless of brand. for instance progressive through an agent can be almost double actual cost online for exact same insurance (if any agents even sell it anymore)

    having an older car can help for full coverage, but newer cars tend to have better rates if only getting liability

    if possible you can also use location to your advantage such as if you go to school in utah and parents live in iowa, then compare which address gets you the better rate. it is not dishonest as you can consider either one home although you can use imagination to do similar method more dishonestlly but must consider what you will do if ever file a claim
