I had a water loss in my home and my company denied my claim. I am now suffering from toxic mold symptoms

    You hire a lawyer.

You’re not going to like this, but there are a WIDE range of reasons why water damage wouldn’t be covered, legitimately, in your house – starting with the standard flood exclusion. Additionally, mold remediation ALSO isn’t covered on a homeowners policy.

If they denied your claim, because there was no coverage, you do NOT have a bad faith claim – you have a lack of coverage. Any attorney will give you a free consult, and if they won’t take your case on a no win, no fee basis, it’s because you don’t have a case.

There would need to be merit to your assertion that the loss was a covered one under the policy. What does your policy say and on what grounds did the insurer deny coverage? "Water loss" is a pretty vague term.

Getting a lawyer would be a good first step.

    Step 1. Hire a lawyer.
Step 2. Ask the lawyer to tell you step 3.
