How much would my motorcycle insurance cost?
i might be purchasing a 1999 honda cbr 600s4. i have no riding experience. i live in NJ. i am 22 years old. i have 4 points on my license (from careless driving tickets), besides that, a clean driving record. any sort of educated guess would be much appreciated.

Depends on the company you get it from. I’ve got Foremost (with GAP) on my 2009 H-D FLSTN, and it runs about $650 a year.

Alot less than car insurance for sure! Regardless of tickets and age, a motor cycle insurance poly is usually WAY cheaper than a car! Even if the bike is new. ( newness of bike might matter some) Make sure ya shop around! And oh, dont know if NJ has the different class for being in operation of motorcyle, in Caliifornia we do, so check on that too if you havent already.
Motorcycles are a little more dangerous for you if you are a reckless guy, but if you commute though traffic, you just got the ‘kingship’ card for getting through the rat races!

No way we can answer your question. Too many variables.
If I move 8 miles to the east into the next county my insurance would be cheaper. This is one of many variables that insurance companies look at to determine an insurance premium.
Best advise, acquire the VIN number and start shopping. I use Progressive. Many companies offer online quotes.
Sport bikes are expensive to insure, especially for a beginner. Also, sport bikes are not the best for a beginner. Please read articles below.
