The price charged to insure your home depends on many factors. I would recommend that you contact the agent who handles your car insurance and request a quote from them. Most companies provide a multi line discount for more than one type of policy being purchased.
If you have already closed on your home and not selected a company, then contact your mortgage company to ask where your coverage was placed. If you obtain different coverage the original policy can be replaced.
Your final cost paid will depend on the age and location of your home, prior claims history of your home, deductible selected, type of coverages selected etc. Also please check if your home is in a flood zone. A regular homeowners policy does not cover damage by flood.
Best wishes to you

Well, is cheaper than it is in California. Call some of the big carriers, Farmers, Auto club, State Farm, Allstate (not sure if Allstate is still doing homeowners insurance), ect.
I like State Farm. They pay their claims well. Keep your homeowners and auto insurance with the same company to get the most discounts on both policies.
