how do i make a claim for my mothers 30yr old life insurance policy?

30yrs ago my mother took out a £100 life insurance policy, sadly she died shortly after. with, british american insurance company. how do i go about making a claim? i am not sure of the policy number but have other documents such as her death certificate e.t.c. thank you for any answers, much appreciated.
my grandmother was the beneficiary, also she has now died. and i do not have the policy number, it was lost.

OK, well, you’ll need to call the company with the policy number, and ask for the claims papers to fill out. You’ll probably need to go back through her papers to find a cancelled cheque to prove the policy existed.
Why did you wait so long?
Oh, you KNOW that YOU don’t necessarily get the money, just because YOU put in the claim, right? It goes to whomever she named as beneficiary.

I would call the insurance agency and inquire on the procedure. You likely need them to look up the policy number for you as well.
