I want to start a new career in and 401k’s. How do I go about learning about it. Do you have do get a licence?

    This largely depends on your prior work history and your general level of intelligence and ability, but if you’re confident in yourself, I’d search out a large enterprise like Ameriprise or AG Edwards and see what they can do. You’ll want to get with a company that has a wide-array of products, a good support system, and a track record of training inexperienced representatives and turning them into SMEs.

    Some of the bigger companies have extended "training" periods–e.g., the first year–where you’re actually on salary so the pressure isn’t as high right away.
