Also my ceiling has cracks now, and the doors wont shut all the way [so im almost certain its a foundation problem]. My mom just paid ,000 for her foundation to be fixed. =( that’s too much. any chance homeowners insurance will pay for that?

How costly is it 2have hardwood floors redone? Also, will homeowners insurance pay 2 fix foundation problem?
I want to have someone come in & sand and refinish my harwood floors. Ive been told to just rent a sander myself, but a friend i know did that & ended up with "humps" in her flooring, and eventually just covered it up with carpet. So I def. want to leave it up to the professionals. I live in Northern Alabama, my house is 2,200 square feet aproximately. But two of my rooms are carpets, hence, it wouldnt apply to those rooms. is it unheard of for the flooring company to do finiancing with them [it would help].

PLEASE do not rent a machine and try this yourself. Sanding and refinishing a floor is truly on of those projects that is best left to a professional.
It’s very unlikely that a flooring company in your area will finance a sand and refinish, but maybe you could put it on a credit card and pay for it over time. You don’t mention if your floors are stained or natural. Sand and finish to natural will be around $3.00 a square foot. To stain add .50 per square foot. If you’re not trying to change the color, but to refresh them(if they aren’t in real bad shape), you can have them buff and coated (they may call it "screening" in your area)- that’s where the top layer of urethane is removed and a new layer is applied. This is usually done for $1.00 a sq ft.
I would certainly get your agent out to look at your foundation. Just remember – no one can deny your right to FILE a claim.

I had my living room hardwood floors refinished by a professional. Strip, sanded and high-gloss finish. For a approx. 15 ft. x 15 ft. room it cost $600 and worth every penny. It’s gorgeous

i refinsih and install flooring. if you really want the nice smooth professional look get a professional. most machine you rent will always leave the humps in the floor no matter who uses them. I charge three dollars a square foot to refinish floors in my area and thats furnishing all the supplies. GREAT LOOK , some think it is costly but when you look at buying good carpet…cost as much or more and not as beautiful…plus raises value of home

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web.
Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?
the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.
this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins.
The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.
Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy.
So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net.
Good starting point is at this site.
