I have no and cannot take my son to a dr and do not have money to pay a huge ER bill. He has a nasty ear infection. What can I do to treat it so no damage is caused? He is 18 months old.
I live in Utah and all the free clinics are closed.

You can’t cure an infection at home. Can you get state health insurance for your son? He’s going to need a prescription to get rid of it. But until you get in give him Tylenol and try some OTC drops or warm oil. Warm compresses are nice too…try throwing his blanket in the dryer and laying him down with that ear on the blanket.

Best Wishes…and good luck! Oh avoid Milk!!!

You do not say where you live.

But an ear infection is nothing to leave to home remedies for a child! You can cause permanent damage if you leave it untreated, including hearing and speech problems.

Try to find a walk in clinic of some kind, or a county hospital. The child is deserving of proper care.

Here is Arizona, the local Walgreen’s even have walk in clinics, you do not need insurance. My daughters boyfriend just went to one for the flu, it cost $75.00, and $15.00 for some antibiotics.

Please, please, please, do not let the ear infection go.

He is going to need an antibiotic to treat the infection, and you do not want to cause any permanent damage. The ER may be expensive, but they cannot deny treatment just because you do not have insurance. Do you have any urgent care places? Its not the ER, but you also do not need an appointment.
