hi i need a detailed list of all registered insurance companies in florida. i tried dun and broadstreet but their service is too expensive and i also contacted AM Best but they are even more expensive. please let me know a good resource for this information.
i imagine that the state has this information set as public but i dont know how i can access it.

You go to your state insurance department website – they should have a list of all admitted carriers.
You can also go to the insurance department in person, to see what stuff they’ve "filed".
Then you go to http://www.sec.gov, and all of the publicly traded companies have financials posted there.
