Help-Rental/Homeowners Insurance??

The homeowners is a waste of money because you do not own the home. It will never pay out to you. The landlord insurance seems rather strange since you are the tennants and this would be your mother’s responsibility. Since you are not paying rent I am assuming this is offsetting that factor but the policy would have to be set up completely under your mother’s name and she should be receiving the policy not you. As for you, since you do not own the home you must have renters insurance to cover your posessions and that is all you need to cover your possessions inside the dwelling. The structure is not covered by a homeowners policy in your name or your mother’s. You do not own the home and your mom does not reside there (i.e. her drivers license, mailing address, bills all go elsewhere); therefore, you are wasting your money on the homeowners unless it specifically states it is a "non-owner occupied" homeowners policy that you are covered under. Speak with a licensed insurance agent and I am sure you will save yourself $$.

It should cover ur stuff but i’d ring the company to make sure. BECAUSE some companies only replace things which they have as documented. So if your stuff is not on that list it may not be replaced.

Homeowners insurance is more to protect the house structure from fire, floods, water damage. Rental insurance is more to protect items inside the house, belongings. Homeowners should also cover this so I’d scratch that. check with the insurance agent. i have no idea on landlord insurance.

If you are in the US, your mother needs to purchase a Dwelling Fire policy (some companies call this a landlord’s policy), which will cover the building and premises liability only, for your mother since she is the owner. It need to go to her at her address & be in her name. If she wants you to pay for it since you are living in the house, that is between you & her (this would be a "form" of rent since you are paying her money).
You will need to purchase a tenants or renters policy in your name for your personal belongings & your personal liability.
The homeowners policy is worthless, if there were a claim, the homeowners policy will deny coverage because the dwelling is not owner occupied (your mother needs to live there to have a homeowners policy).
Your mother should have a homeowners policy where she lives if she owns the house she lives in, or a renters policy if she rents or does not own the house she lives in.
