Your best bet is to find a local agent to work with. They’ll get to know your situation and be able to help you later if you have problems with your health plan. You’ll want to work with an independent agent, meaning they can place you with any carrier in your state.
To find an agent, ask friends who they’ve used. Or ask your friend’s parents. Or you can find a local agent through the National Association of Health Underwriters, which is the national trade association for agents. Their site is http://www.NAHU.org. In the left column navigation hover your mouse over "Consumer Information" and then click on "Find an Agent." It’s a free service.
Good luck.

First, you need to decide how you are going to use the insurance. If you are generally healthy and are willing to outsource any prescriptions, you can get a very cheap individual health policy that is appropriate for your age.
My site, http://www.health-insurance-low-cost.net, gives details on how to apply for insurance, and has plenty of health insurance quote links on this page: http://www.health-insurance-low-cost.net/insurance-plans.htm. Ehealthinsurance, and probably 6 other providers of health insurance quotes, are there. Good Luck!
