Have you ever heard of an Internet auto insurance agent named NetQuote?

Apparently, they can hook me up with less expensive auto insurance through a reputable known company, but I was wondering if they are a scam.

I dunno but how about calling around to some of the other well known insurance companies and ask if they have heard of them or are in any way affiliated with NetQuote. I’d be skeptical of anything over the internet before I did any research

This company ONLY insures fishing gear.

i advise all people to stay away from internet insurance companies. first of all, most average people do not know enough about what coverages they actually need and what they acutally cover to be doing insurance for themselves. i just had a lady who had placed liability only online when she needed full coverage and had an accident and is now responsible for damages. plus, having a local agent gives you a real person to talk to when you need something or have a problem. a lot of time the online quotes are not accurate because they dont ask for all info needed to be accurate until you take the policy, so when you actually get the policy its higher than you thought. call a local agent to get your insurance.insurance.

They’re not a scam. Here’s a link to some info I found on the BBB search.

NetQuote is NOT an insurance company. It is a place where someone like you, a seeker of insurance can submit their information for a quote. This information is then distributed to a number of agents in your area, independents, captive agents, direct writers, etc. They then contact you with quotes based on the information you provided. Its kinda like calling a dozen insurance companies at one time, giving your information only once and letting them do the shopping for you. I worked for an independent agent that used this service and it is definitely not a scam.
