Free Spiritual Insurance?

Why is it that most Christians regard salvation as a form of free insurance, a ‘get out of hell free’ card. If this, then, is how salvation is recognized, why doesn’t everybody just say the prayer of deliverance and forget about, convinced of one less spiritual curveball the universe can throw at them, confident that IF it is all real, they don’t have to worry about it, and if its fake, nothing has been lost. Please, only responses that address the question (which is hypothetical) and not "It’s a myth."

I am afraid that for those who only regard salvation as insurance will be left without a payoff-"if" it is all real.
