Do native americans living on the res need auto insurance?

I was told if they live on the res, they don’t need to buy auto insurance, I don’t believe it.

    true on many. there may be some that require it but most do not. some don’t even require registration. however if you are going to drive off the rez thats another story.

    That would only be true if the reservation was in New Hampshire. NH is the only state that does not mandate 3rd party liability insurance.

    This is true on my reservation. Auto insurance is not required, most times they don’t even ask for registration. However, if traveling off the reservation, insurance is a requirement.

    No, but I travel off all the time for certain things of coarse. So I still have it;

    Like Lakota Dream stated, on My Oglala Sioux reservation, we do not need auto insurance. However, with how small my reservation is, and us constantly needing to travel off the rez, it is necessary to have auto insurance. But it all depends on the tribe and the area of which state they are on.
