    Yes.
Do you have any gaps in insurance coverage since you 1st started driving? Are you over 25? How’s your driving record? What kind of bike is it? (Sport/cruiser?)
All these and more are factors that will determine your premium, and companies vary. I’d get quotes from several different companies before making a final decision if I were you.

if you have a motorcycle yes and as far as cheap insurance your probably gunna have to quote around and i think it depends on what state your in as well

  • Granny 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

If you have a motorcycle, then yes you need ins. You would have to call around for quotes.

  • bluff_michael 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

Yes. Any vehicle on the street needs to be insured. Try Geico. What you’ll pay will depend on the bike you ride, your age, motorcycling experience and driving record.

  • crazy_tentacle 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

no, as long as you don’t ride a motorbike you will be ok.

  • doglover 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

It all depends on the State that you live in. All you have to do is contact your local DMV. I live in Wisconsin and I do not need insurance. However some states require it. If you have a lien on the bike you will need full coverage in the Spring and summer months and at least liability in the winter.

  • Bubba13 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

You absolutly do need insuance on your bike. You really should put full coverage on it . If you park it in your garage at home , then your home owners insurance will cover it. But there are some ins. companies that will give you "rainy day " ins. that covers you during all of the summer months and only partially during fall and winter months so if there is a nice day then you can still ride. Some ins. companies will only cover you for 9 months and the bike must be "stored" for winter and not ridden. Just make sure to check several ins companies before you purchase anything and ask lots of questions.

In the USA, yes. If you have a new bike and a loan, you will need FULL coverage. If you are under 25 years old, don’t bother if you want "cheap" insurance.

I pay $35 per month for full coverage + medical, but I’m 34 with a good driving record and 4 years riding.

Besides, if you are considering not having it, you probably don’t have the maturity to ride anyway.

  • archeraarash 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

get an insurance. It is useful anyway.

  • Pamela 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

  • pcpy 9:02 pm on March 10, 2010

    Yes yes yes yes
I would go as heavy as I could on the uninsured/under insured section. Your medical will be limited as will the collision. Don’t ride without it!

bikermoj: who is your company cause I’m paying 548 for 6 months with a $500 deductible / $200K um and only 2K medical. I’ve been riding "legally" for 40 years with a clean record. Let me know and I’ll check them out. THKs
