I'm thinking someone was probably pulling your husband's leg. People may have a multiline policy with their insurance (auto, home, fire, life, etc.) but it needs to be specified which policies they have.

The only time I could think you might get money from your home owners insurance for an auto accident is if it ran into your house.

Dont know how you pulled that one off but i woulnt let them find out cause you might have to pay em back. No you cannot use homeowners insurance for an auto-accident you can try but if found out you could face stiff fines and jail time for fraud bet you feeling better already....dont try it

No. Even if you have an accident on your own property where you get hurt there still is no coverage on a homeowners policy. There is coverage on a homeowners policy if someone else gets hurt on your property.

If you were not at fault for the accident you could take the other driver (or owner of the other vehicle) to small claims court

The only way the homeowner's insurance would work is if the accident happened on your property. My son had his pickup fall off the jack and injured his back. The car insurance would not cover it because he was not driving, they forced us to claim it on our homeowners insurance, which went up shortly after the claim. What your husband is claiming,I have never heard of before, not to say it doesn't exist. Call your home insurance agent and ask them, can't hurt to ask.

Thank you for running into each other instead of an innocent person who is following the rules.

You stand as much chance as your homeowner paying the bills for your accident as there is that your auto insurance would cover your house burning down.

If that's not plain enough, NO.

Which ever of you was at fault in the accident owes the other for all damages.
