Can the state use life insurance money left to pay back child support?

my sons father owes 6000 in back support and just recieved a life insurance policy from his dad, so can the state use that to pay the monies owed?

    Once he deposits the money in his account, the state can sweep the account and attach the funds. They can’t attach it, though, until he cashes the check.

    Depends on your state, most states have exempted attachment of life insurance proceeds to pay creditors which normally include child support,
