I know several people who have submitted their information into one of the many "online " and now they have solicitors all over them, on their phone, emails, junk mail and even one case of Social Security Identity theft. So my question is: Are these online really safe? Doesn’t it make sense to stay with a local auto you can do business with either on the phone or in person.

You will have to shop around as you do.
Get a quote from insurers you get from yellow pages or from the web.

Been there. Done that. Huge mistake and a waste of time. After much aggravation, it turned out that the company I was already with was the least expensive.
