Why else would the government want to get in the health insurance business if not for power & money?

Are the Democrats demonizing the private health insurance companies because they have an eye on their profits?
And the Democrats want the government to squeeze them out so they can have access to those same profits in the future?

No, it isn’t necessary to "demonize" an industry with its foundation solidly mired in unethical, immoral tenets.
To allow people to DIE so that CEOs can have higher salaries is wrong. Period. End. Fini.

Insurance companies are as sleazy as can be.

are you kidding, it makes more sense to think that ALL poloticians stand to benifit from health care companies once the public option is introduced. Because there will be more pressure on there lobbiest to gain the edge in washington and in the market. Plenty of money is being drained from you premium right now, but blame the public option.

If you mean by "their profits" our hard earned money…yes.

Of course. They make so many promises to be everyone’s mommies and daddies they need ever more taxes to pretend they are.

Yes, Obama has many times declared that our economic future relies on the passage of his healthcare takeover.
Nobody loves insurance companies, so they are an easy target. However, thousands of people are employed by them and millions depend on them for their healthcare. We don’t need a government insurance company. They can set laws and regulations to manipulate the insurance companies if that is what they wish to do.

No.
I think a majority of U.S. citizens are demonizing the private health insurance companies because they make their profits by denying health care to their policy holders and use those profits to lobby against the best interests of the people they’re supposed to be covering, which is…demonic aka capitalist.
The Democrats, except the blue dogs of course, just have a better sense of which way the wind is blowing

Why are private insurance companies so afraid of having to compete with a public option?
tehabwa 5:07 pm on February 18, 2010
"an eye on" No. That’s yet another wing-nut lie. Dems don’t oppose profits.
However, the health insurance companies take people’s money, then, instead of providing insurance, the moment the insured need health care, they deny it.
People are dying, suffering, and loosing their homes because insurers want to take everyone’s money, yet provide nothing in return.
So "they" can have access to those same profits? Uh, not one of the plans currently being considered gives health care money profits to Dems.
If you haven’t been paying any attention to WHY most Americans and the Dems want a public option, that’s not our fault.
